John and Rachael have over 40 years of combined dance experience. They are dedicated to bringing the highest quality of instruction, from beginners to Dance sport Competitors.
Rachael King
Rachael's journey with dance began at the age of four when she watched the BYU Ballroom Dance Company perform during a tour near her hometown. Captivated by the beauty, artistry, and connection she witnessed on the dance floor, she knew from that moment that dance would become an important part of her life. Although ballroom instruction for young children was not readily available at the time, her passion remained unwavering. When the opportunity finally arose, she immersed herself fully in ballroom dance and has never looked back.
Today, Rachael is a DVIDA-certified instructor trained under the late, renowned Ron Montez. She enjoys teaches all four ballroom styles and has earned numerous regional championship titles throughout the United States. In addition to her ballroom accomplishments, she is a former UCWDC World Swing Champion, bringing a diverse background and wealth of experience to her students.
What distinguishes Rachael most is not simply her competitive success, but her genuine love for people and her belief in the transformative power of dance. She views dance as far more than a collection of steps. It is a vehicle for confidence, connection, self-expression, personal growth, and joy. Whether she is teaching a young child, a wedding couple, a social dancer, or a competitive athlete, her goal remains the same: to help each person discover what is possible when they move with confidence and authenticity.
Inspired by her own childhood dream of learning to dance, Rachael has devoted much of her career to expanding opportunities for the next generation. She has developed youth dance programs and successfully introduced them into public school systems, creating accessible pathways for children to experience the many benefits of movement, music, teamwork, and artistic expression. Her long-term vision is to help make quality dance education available to communities across the country.
Rachael's passion for artistry extends beyond the dance floor. As the owner of Artistry In Motion, she combines creativity and attention to detail to help individuals feel confident and empowered through beauty and self-expression. Her work reflects the same philosophy that guides her teaching: bringing out the unique qualities that already exist within each person.
A lifelong student of movement and human potential, Rachael studied Neurobiology and Exercise Science at the University of Chicago. Her fascination with the connection between the brain, body, and human performance informs her teaching approach, blending technical excellence with an understanding of how people learn, move, and grow. This foundation allows her to create an experience that is both highly effective and deeply supportive.
At the heart of everything Rachael does is a simple belief: dance has the power to elevate lives. Through movement, connection, and community, she is honored to share a gift that has shaped her own life and continues to inspire others every day.
